Of Woods and Water, A Photographic Journey across Michigan

Of Woods and Water, A Photographic Journey across Michigan

"These powerful photographs are evocative hymns to the beauty and majesty of Michigan, a place where the greatest fresh waters of the world originate." –Dave Dempsey, coauthor of The Waters of Michigan

These words describe the realization of Ron’s photographic vision of more than 20 years and most recent collaboration with Christopher Jordan, Of Woods and Water, A Photographic Journey across Michigan. This coffee table book contains over 140 breathtaking color images representing the varied and pristine diversity of natural landscapes found in Ron’s home state. This portfolio of images has been assembled to not only showcase the wild beauty and wonderment that exists in Michigan but also to heighten the public’s awareness and need for involvement in preservation and its procurement for our children and the generations to come. Be prepared to be moved by the power and emotion conveyed in the imagery and simply awed by the unsurpassed and untamed beauty that still exists in Michigan, one of North America’s natural jewels.

The Nature Conservancy's Guide to Indiana Preserves

The Nature Conservancy's Guide to Indiana Preserves

The Nature Conservancy's Guide to Indiana Preserves is an invaluable resource as you journey to natural areas of the state. Big Walnut, Cedar Bluffs, the Kankakee Sands Project, Pennywort Cliffs, to name just a few—these are the places that The Nature Conservancy has been working to protect since 1959. Many of these places have incredible human histories that are as much a part of the preserves as the plants and animals found there.

Written by a host of different authors and Ron's contribution of over 100 stunning photographs, the preserve descriptions in the new Guide go well beyond the normal flora-and-fauna statistics. Learn how the Conservancy's Fern Cliff preserve played a key role in Coca Cola's early days. Discover the abandoned town of Conrad, whose storied past includes one of the country's largest wetlands and a thriving hog farm.

The Nature Conservancy's Guide to Indiana Preserves is an essential resource for those who want to get off the beaten path and visit natural Indiana at its best—but this is more than a field guide. Directions to each site are also included, so you can start your journey right away. For more information or to order, visit Indiana University Press online.

Unexpected Indiana; A Portfolio of Natural Landscapes

Unexpected Indiana; A Portfolio of Natural Landscapes

Published under the Quarry Books imprint by Indiana University Press, Ron collaborates on a first of it's kind book focusing on the diverse natural beauty of the Hoosier State. This project took over four years and encompassed more than 50,000 miles of travel across Indiana searching out and capturing some of the state’s most enchanting natural places. The book contains over 130 images ranging from the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore in the north to the hauntingly beautiful bald cypress trees in the southwestern corner of the state. You will find intimate close-ups to sweeping, grand landscapes in this "all natural" portfolio.
